January Love Me Beauty Box First Impressions

Jan LMB

So this month, I slightly impulsively decided to order a new beauty box. One of my favourite bloggers, Rachael from Helpless Whilst Drying posted about this subscription service on her blog last week and I was very intrigued.

NOTD: Honey Bee

honey bee

This is a more unusual nail varnish choice for me, but there was something about Ciate’s Honey Bee that made me want to try it. I got my bottle in T K Maxx on sale for £3.99 a few weeks back and wasted no time in putting it on my nails. Honey Bee is a pink toned pale brown nude with golden shimmer.

Clothing Haul! ft. New Look, H&M & Dorothy Perkins

clothing haul

Before we get on to what I bought, I’d like to share a couple of pieces of important news with you all. First of all, I have been offered a new job! I’ve got a temporary contract an hour’s drive from me, where I’ll finally be able to start my career as a graphic designer! I am of course very very pleased and although I don’t start til March thanks to a long notice period and a pre-booked holiday, some of the things I bought were with office/studio dress code in mind. The second thing is that my beloved macbook is heading off to Apple for a couple of days for some repairs! (thankfully just within the extended warranty period I took out when I bought it!) Although I have access to another mac, this may affect my ability to keep up with the blog, so I just thought I’d let you all know, as I have otherwise been very good at keeping up with my posting schedule this month. That’s also the main reason why today’s post is a day late – after a hectic day, I finally finished writing this up at 11pm!

Beauty Essentials Haul

eseentials

Yet another beauty haul, yet more Lush products! What can I say? I’m a bit addicted! In all honesty though, I worked a lot of overtime through Nov & Dec, so I’m enjoying being able to splurge a little and treat myself. But I am now well and truly stocked up on beauty things, so from next pay day I am going to be cutting right back and start saving up for a holiday. Keep reading

Schwarzkopf Bonacure Sulfate Free Shampoo Review

Scwarzkopf

I’ve decided it’s time to formally introduce you all to the shampoo I have been using for the past four weeks or so. From my previous shampoo review post, you may be aware that I was having some trouble finding a sulphate free shampoo that actually did everything I wanted it to. Well, I think I’ve found the answer! Enter Schwarzkopf Bonacure Color Freeze Sulfate-Free Shampoo.

The Khaki Edit

Khaki

Now that the New Year has come around, some of the shops have mixed up their lines. With that has come a resurgence of one of my all time favourite colours – khaki. There’s something about this beautiful deep, army green that I just love. And thankfully, it really suits my pale skin and red hair. Here’s a selection of pieces which have caught my eye lately.

What’s In My Wash Bag?

WIMWB
One of the first posts I did when I started my blog was What’s In My Make Up Bag? I said then that I’d do an updated post on it after I’d been blogging a while, but the other night when I was packing up my things for a night at the boyfriends I thought, why don’t I do a wash bag post? After all, I pack the same things in it every time. These are the first things I grab when I’m going away and are my current everyday essentials.

Lush Sakura Bath Bomb Review

Sakura

I bought this Sakura Bath Bomb from Lush not too long after Christmas, you can see the haul post here. The thing I was most drawn to about it was the scent, as it took me back to my time in Tokyo last February.

NOTD: Emerald Tower

Emerald Tower
I bought this Lakur by Londontown nail varnish a few months ago, wore it once and then forgot about it. The reason for that was because I was on the hunt for the perfect green. Not that this isn’t a lovely shade, but green is my favourite colour and I can get quite picky about finding the right one. But when I saw this in my box of polishes the other day, I was really drawn to it and decided to give it another chance.

The 20 Things Tag

20thingstag

For some reason, I was really in the mood to do a tag post, so had a quick google and found this one on Blacksburg Belle’s blog. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t dislike tag posts, but it seems like they all come flooding in at once and I forget to do them and then have to try spread them out and to keep the content interesting. Anyway, this is a fairly quick one and has some good questions that I thought would make a fun little post, so here it goes!

Clothing Haul! ft. Black Milk Clothing, Missguided & Miss Selfridge

Clothing Haul

It’s been a long time since I’ve done a fashion post hasn’t it? I need to try and balance the beauty/fashion content a bit better I think. So despite having recently done a beauty haul post, I thought I’d share the recent additions to my wardrobe with you.

Let’s Talk… Moisturiser

moisturiser

The winter is really taking its toll on my skin. I know that as the weather changes it’s best to change your skincare routine to meet different needs, but this year my skin has gone really dry and, in some places, I’ve even gotten a few small patches of eczema. I haven’t had trouble with eczema since I was about 5! To counter this, I raided my stash for moisturisers. Here’s what I’m using at the moment.
