Oh, The Places You’ll Go Travel Tag

Places you'll go tag

Yup, another tag post! This time I was nominated by the lovely Becca from Beck In A Blog, who is one of my favourite bloggers and such a lovely girl to talk to. If you don’t already follow her, you really should.

1. If you could hop on a plane to anywhere, right now, where you would you go?

This is a tough one, because there’s so many places I want to go. At the moment, my top places would have to be going back to Tokyo, the Galapagos islands or visiting friends who are abroad in Spain and Australia. I want to go back to Tokyo for cherry blossom season in March though.

2. Do you have a scent that takes you back to a memorable vacation?

I have two Victoria’s Secret perfumes, both of which I bought on holidays. One, Sexy Little Things Noir, I got when my family did a 3 week road trip through California (which was awesome) and the other, Love Is Heavenly, I got when I went to Rome with my mum last year. Both are amazing scents and were really memorable holidays.

3. If you had the choice, would you rather drive, fly, or take a train?

Probably train, but I don’t mind a long flight to get somewhere and I do really want to do a road trip. I went interrailling with my friend for a couple of weeks before we went to uni and it was such a great experience! I’d love to do it again to see the other half of Europe (we didn’t get very far East) and I also would like to go for a whole month to Italy and travel by train and things through out the whole country.

4. Have you lived in the same city all your life, or have you moved frequently throughout growing up?

With the exception of university, I’ve always lived in Milton Keynes.

5. Have you ever been in a long-distance relationship?

Yes, whilst I was at uni. My boyfriend lived in Milton Keynes, whilst I was in Cardiff, which is a 3 hour drive, longer on public transport. And he doesn’t drive. We would regularly go three months without seeing each other.

6. What’s the craziest thing you’ve done whilst on vacation?

There are several memorable moments from my trip round Europe with one of my best friend, including almost getting arrested for harassing the French police (who refused to help us when we needed it, and then got pissed off at us) and of course doing part of the journey with total strangers. That’s kinda just part of the whole experience though. Oh and I also got kicked out of the Sistine Chapel whilst on holiday with my mum… All I did was take a photo. I’m really not that rebellious. I guess most people would consider dying part of my hair green in a hotel bathroom pretty crazy, but I do love my colourful hair! I did leave a lot of other things green in the process though!

7. Do you get jet-lagged after a long flight?

No matter the direction I travel, I don’t seem to get too jet lagged going there, but I do suffer when I come back. I think its because I get so excited to go and just hit the ground running as soon as I get there. I then don’t stop doing as much as I can until I get home, at which point it all catches up to me.

8. Dream vacation?

Other than the trips I’ve already mentioned wanting to do, I also really want to do an American road trip with my friends, which absolutely has to include Vegas at Halloween and going to the Grand Canyon and a shooting range. Oh and I need to go on safari. I’ve wanted to go see all the animals for years and knowing so many are close to extinction makes me desperate to go soon. I’d ideally like to go to South Africa on safari and then to Madagascar for a bit too on the same holiday. Because lemurs. I’ve been a bit in love with them since seeing the movie Madagascar… And I want to go to Egypt too.

9. Worst vacation?

Um, I can’t really think of a holiday where I had a terrible time and afterwards I was really glad to be home. Guess I’m lucky to have been on good ones so far!

10. Would you ever go on vacation to somewhere you’ve already been?

Yes definitely! I was lucky enough to go to both New York and Tokyo whilst I was at uni, but both trips were only 5 days long. For such big cities, that’s only a taster and there’s so much more I could see and do in both of them. I also loved San Francisco when I went and was under 21 when I went to Vegas, so didn’t get to experience that properly. In Europe, I’m already planning to go back to Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin and Rome. I just need money and some travel companions!

Loved your answers! Didn't know you lived in MK! I'm only about an hour away. Hahah. So much travelling I'd love to do – I think safari would be amazing as well!
