July Favourites

It’s that time again! Here’s the products I’ve been loving this month.

la_roche_posay_effaclar_lotion_product_front_1First up is the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Clarifying Lotion 200ml (£11). This contains a cleansing agent and micro-exfoliant to help unblock and reduce the size of pores. I use this in the evenings after removing my make up and I’m often surprised at how dirty the cotton pad is after using this, which just shows how much make up gets left in my pores! It leaves my skin feeling a little tight afterwards, but this soon wears off. I’ve had my bottle for months and I’m starting to get a bit low now, but I’m already on the look out for it on offer to buy another one!

Jewellery Lust List

Jewellery Lust List

I don’t know about you, but I have been utterly fixated by jewellery lately. I don’t know whether it’s because I haven’t had anything new in a while (other than my graduation gift) or because my favourite necklace broke. I think it’s more the second, as I’m currently waiting for a new watch strap to arrive so at the moment I’m jewellery-free (apart from my ears and nose) and feel a bit naked without anything! So I thought I’d put together this little photoset to show you what I’ve been repeatedly lusting over recently.

My Hair Story – How I damaged my hair

It occurred to me the other day that I have yet to talk about my main beauty obsession, my hair. I have been obsessed with dying my hair for as long as I can remember and over the years have done some fairly drastic things to my hair in terms of both colour and cut. I’ve gotten past the drastic cut thing, but not the colouring!

IMG_1259 copyHere’s me with my bright pinky-red hair, taken two weeks ago.

I wanted to write this post to share some of my experiences with hair dye, as I’ve done a lot to my hair. I also wanted to start a bit of a series where I can talk about dealing with (and hopefully fixing) my damaged hair so that others can learn from my mistakes without having to make them themselves. I thought a good place to start was to explain why I dye my hair, what I have done to it and what damage this has done to create a good background to future posts.

Please excuse the various pose-y selfies used to illustrate this post! Haha!

MAC Prep + Prime Review

I recently received a sample of Mac’s Prep + Prime face primer through a promotion they were running on their facebook page. This is the first time I’ve used a primer and I have to say I am thoroughly disappointed.

Now on Bloglovin’!

bloglovin

Hey guys!

Just a quick one to let you know I’ve linked my blog over on Bloglovin’, so if you wanted you can follow RachWat here.

If you didn’t know, on Bloglovin’ you can follow both my blog and my personal profile. These aren’t linked so if you wanted to see both you’d need to follow both. What’s the difference? Following the blog brings my new posts up on your homepage in your feed, but if you follow my profile then you can click ‘Friend Activity’ to see what posts I’ve been liking. Find my personal profile here.

July Glossybox First Impressions

Today I received my July Glossybox through the post! This is my first ever beauty box subscription and I was really excited for this to arrive, checking the tracking details a couple of times a day! This month’s box was American themed and I have to admit that photos of the packaging on the site definitely influenced me going ahead and finally ordering one of these boxes! The designer in me just couldn’t resist the beautiful packaging, as much as I wanted to expand my knowledge of beauty products.

So here’s my box:

Lip Product Addict Tag

I’ve seen several bloggers do this Tag now and it seems like a fun one to go through and answer quickly, so I’ve decided to give it a go! I originally saw this on either Stylebreakdown or Hanbeautyblog – I can’t remember which! And most recently Moschino and Mascara did one too.

NYX Make Up Review – Eyeshadow Palette and Blusher

images

A couple of weeks ago, I went shopping with a mission – to overhaul my make up bag. I got quite a few products (which you can see here) including the NYX Love In Paris Eyeshadow Palette in A La Mode £10 and the NYX Blush in Mauve £6.  I’d seen some great reviews of NYX’s products and I’ve used both almost every day since, so I was quite excited to give them a go.

Graduation OOTD

Processed with Moldiv

On Thursday, I graduated from the University of South Wales with a 2:1 in BA (Hons) Graphic Communications at St David’s Hall, Cardiff. I had a really nice (but long) day and it still seems a bit surreal that university is now completely over. The day passed by in a bit of a blur and I didn’t get to spend as much time with any of my friends or family as I would’ve liked, but that always seems to be the way with big events like this.

Tangle Teezer Review

20140709-212303-76983987.jpg

I recently bought a Tangle Teezer (£10.99) on the recommendation of none other than my metal head older brother. Yup. My older brother recommended me a hairbrush! This is completely unheard of so naturally I got it immediately.

New blogs to follow?

Hey guys, this is just a short post cause Ive been looking for some new people to follow. (I think it can be a bit tricky to find what you’re looking for on WordPress as it doesn’t have a search option other than the hashtags.)

Please comment with any blogs you think I’d be interested in – whether it’s your blog, your favourite blog, I don’t mind. Share the love :)
